At the kmcafe, we discuss knowledge management in large organizations. Why? Because we’re interested in exploring what makes KM succeed or fail. While we don’t limit the scope of the discussion, we do tend to focus on these questions:

• Is KM a fleeting trend?
• What motivates large organizations to adopt KM?
• How do they implement KM?
• What technologies do they use to support KM?
• What is the average lifespan of an organization-wide KM initiative?
• What are the differences between organizations that successfully implement KM and those that do not?
